Congratulations to the Contra Costa County Office of Education (CCCOE), which was selected by the California Department of Education to serve as one of three Homeless Education Technical Assistance Centers (HETAC) for the state. CCCOE will receive $1.5M and provide professional development and training for Homeless Liaisons and other stakeholders for three years. Together, San Diego, Los Angeles, and Contra Costa COEs will coordinate to help ensure students and families experiencing housing instability benefit from support, services, and educational access.
Congratulations to Familias Unidas for its award of $50,000 from the Richmond Fund for Children & Youth for its bilingual Trauma-Informed Care in Schools program for students and their families at Michelle Obama Elementary School and Nystrom Elementary School in Richmond.
