Congratulations to La Familia and the Family Emergency Shelter Coalition (FESCO), who were awarded $81,320 by the Alameda County Department of Housing and Community Development and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development through their Continuum of Care grant program. This grant will support FESCO’s transitional housing site, Banyan House, in providing temporary housing and wraparound support services for homeless families with children in Alameda County.

Justice Grants
Prison to Employment Initiative Direct and Supportive Service Grants
Purpose: To support regional planning efforts, fund regional plan implementation, and provide resources for direct services to the formerly incarcerated and other justice-involved individuals. The funds offered under this RFA are for the implementation of regional plans to serve the formerly incarcerated and other justice involved individuals in California.
Funder: California Workforce Development Board
Applicant: Each region must designate one entity as the applicant and fiscal agent for each grant. Signature proof of this agreement must be included in the application.

Purpose: The grant program is aimed at providing support to individuals formerly incarcerated in state prison. The RFP does not include a process for applying for grantfunding for the third component of the grant: Rehabilitation of Existing Property. Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program
Purpose: To provide critical funding necessary to support state and local initiatives, to include: technical assistance, strategic planning, research and evaluation (including forensics), data collection, training, personnel, equipment, forensic laboratories, supplies, contractual support, and criminal justice information systems.
Funder: Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC)
Applicant: Only California’s 58 counties are eligible to apply, individually or in partnership with other counties.
Amount: Funding is set aside to equitably distribute it between the small (population less than 200,001), medium (population 200,001-700,000), and large counties (population over 700,000). The funding threshold is up to $220,000 annually for small counties, up to $715,000 annually for medium counties, and up to $1,045,625 annually for large counties. Applications including multiple counties can apply for higher amounts, as detailed in the RFP.
